Nashotah Lake Country Kitchen Remodel
The design objective was to create more storage, making the kitchen more functional, while at the same time opening the kitchen to flow into the adjoining rooms. Taller cabinets and more open counter space that was maintenance-free was a must have. The design allows for seamless transitioning between zones, affording ease of entertaining and keeping an eye on the two young children of the family. Contrasts in the cabinetry finishes and countertops add visual interest as well as assist in brightening up a dark space, all while remaining within budget.
The Shiloh cabinetry is Soft White with Slate Glaze and Cambria Blackwood counter tops brings a sense of balance with the Stainless steel appliances. The Island consist of Shiloh Maple cabinetry in a Sable stain with black glaze, Cambria counter top in Bradshaw, Blanco Silgranit sink in Cafe Brown and Kohler Bellera faucet in Oil Rubbed Bronze. The Seagull pendants above the island give the kitchen the finishing touch.
The peninsula creates a divider between the kitchen and family room with plenty of extra storage with access from both sides. New oak floors were installed in the family room and blended into the kitchen/dining room floors, then sanded and finished to create a warm and inviting feel to the space.
The floor to ceiling pantry next to the basement door replaced a small desk with upper cabinet and now creates much needed storage with pullout shelves. A soffit was removed above the wall cabinets on the appliance wall allowing for wall cabinets to go to the ceiling.
With the new layout this kitchen has a more open concept creating a space for family functions and entertaining. And, easy access to the breakfast nook it makes entertaining guests a lot easier.
