Contemporary Kitchen | Wauwatosa
A Wauwatosa family contacted us to remodel their outdated 1950s kitchen. They wanted a brighter kitchen, better organization, and a bold design using chevron wallpaper.
We remodeled this kitchen within the existing footprint of the room. This project is a great example of how we can improve the style and functionality of a space. The end result is better storage solutions and more counter space.
The old range had no counter space around it, making it difficult for cooking. We moved the range to the other wall and added a contemporary hood with tile and wood accents. The custom cabinets provide efficient storage. This kitchen has many storage organizers, including a two-tiered wooden utensil caddy, pantry pull-out shelves and blind corner cabinet pull-out.
Chevron Wallpapered Breakfast Nook
The space by the window wasn’t utilized. The family wanted a cozy space for family meals. We gave them a built-in banquette by the window, which is the perfect space for their family of four. The chevron wallpaper from Serena & Lily gives the space personality. Hidden beneath the benches is extra storage space for large items.
Hidden Spice Cabinet
The kitchen had an old ironing board niche that we kept as a spice cabinet. The cabinet is concealed with wallpaper and opens with a touch latch.
Boho Chic & Contemporary
The style of this kitchen is boho chic and contemporary. The European-style cabinets have bi-fold doors that lift up and bring a contemporary feel. The 4” x 4” Montauk glossy backsplash tile brings subtle texture without overwhelming the space. Warm finishes complement the hues of dark blue and whites.
