Hubertus Home Exterior Makeover

Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was hired as the exterior contractor to update this Hubertus home near Holy Hill. The project included updating the siding, roof, garage doors, decking and exterior doors.
Exterior Work
- Siding: Replaced the cedar siding with durable engineered wood siding. We also installed new soffit material, window trim and fascia.
- Decorative Plaque: Refinished the original wood decorative plaque on the front of the house. We had a local artist render a crest that the customer provided for the center of it.
- Garage: Reframed the front of the garage to change from 3-doors to 2-doors. Installed new carriage style garage doors.
- Lighting: Updated the exterior lighting.
- Doors: Installed new french doors and two exterior doors.
- Porches: Enhanced the front/back porches with a cable railing system and new AZEK decking.
- Roof: Installed ice & water shield on the A-frame section of roof and re-shingled it.
- Gutters: Installed 4” seamless gutters around the entire house.
Project Challenges
- Removing the existing wood plaque off the house, ensuring it did not break.
- Creating a good seal between the siding and fieldstone foundation.
- Ensuring that all areas were sealed to prevent bats from returning to the home’s soffits.
- Finding a mysterious leak in the roof and taking the proper steps to fix it.
This home has a stunning view of Holy Hill and now has a stunning exterior!
