Timeless Kitchen Remodel Waukesha

kitchen remodel contractor waukesha

Bright & Open Kitchen | Waukesha, WI

This Waukesha kitchen is now the gathering spot for weeknight dinners, family holidays and entertaining friends. The old kitchen had dark wood cabinets, a non-functional layout and a raised-bar island. Kowalske Kitchen & Bath added design details and craftsmanship throughout – from the custom cabinets, to the lighting, to the wood elements.

The goal was to create a kitchen where they can entertain and cook together.

Our favorite features:

  • A built-in butcher block cutting board
  • Dining table attached to the island
  • Hidden appliance cabinet
  • Beautiful lighting
  • A statement hood
  • Large island for gathering
  • Hidden, walk-in pantry
  • Workstation sink

Highlights of this Kitchen Remodel

  • Bright & Open Layout – This Waukesha kitchen connects to the great room so we wanted the new design to be more light and bright, to make the space feel open and airy.
  • Functional Food Prep Area – The new work triangle allows for multiple cooks – a cooking area with a lot more prep space, the workstation sink, and the walk-in pantry just steps away.
  • Wood Cutting Board – Chop and prep food right on the kitchen counter. The butcher block cutting board is integrated into the quartzite countertop. It’s conveniently located right above the trash can for easy cleanup.
  • Hidden Appliance Cabinet – This is probably the most beautiful appliance cabinet we’ve ever designed! Inside the cabinet is a quartzite countertop, quartzite backsplash and walnut-finished interior. Pivot pocket doors slide into place so the cabinet can be left open when in use. Appliance cabinets are the perfect spot for storing your toaster oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, blender, mixer and more.
  • Multiple Countertop Materials – When you have a large space like this kitchen, you can choose more than one countertop color and texture. This kitchen has three different countertop quartzite slabs and a butcher block prep zone.
  • Soft Blue Kitchen Island – We chose a subtle pop of color on this kitchen island – a soft blue shade.
  • Statement Lighting Fixtures – Lighting can take your kitchen from basic to beautiful. Our designers at Kowalske Kitchen & Bath work with you to choose pendants, chandeliers and sconces that fit your style.
  • Curvy Range Hood & Backsplash Shelf – The curvy range hood has a timeless shape and blends in with the space. The quartzite slab behind the range has beautiful veining and a shelf for storing items. The ledge creates a little storage without creating too much clutter and backsplash creates an organic look with natural texture variations.
  • Hidden Pantry – A walk-in pantry – just steps away from the countertop prep area – has a stunning metal door with frosted glass.
  • Workstation Sink – A workstation sink does it all. With multiple bowls, colanders and cutting boards, this sink is the ultimate kitchen multitasker. Say goodbye to cluttered countertops and hello to streamlined efficiency. The kitchen sink has a large window overlooking the backyard.
  • Dining Table Attached to the Island – The homeowners love to entertain guests and wanted more seating in the kitchen. A dining table is attached to the end of the kitchen island and has a unique curved table base.
  • China Cabinet – The long wall of cabinets includes a China cabinet with black doors, cremone bolt hardware and reeded glass doors.
  • Bench with Storage – We added a bench under the second set of windows that can be used for seating and storage.
