Wauwatosa First Floor Remodel
Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was hired as the interior remodeling contractor to renovate the first floor of this Wauwatosa, Wisconsin home. The colonial home, located in the Park Ridge neighborhood, needed an update.
The homeowners wanted to connect their 1930s kitchen to the rest of the home. It was small and closed off by a warren of rooms and hallways. The goal was to create a space where they could bake and cook as a family. We reconfigured the layout for a larger, more open and efficient footprint. The new design is timeless and fits the charm of this 1930s home with white shaker cabinetry, a farmhouse sink and traditional woodwork. It features a maple hood as a focal point, high end appliances, an appliance garage and matte black finishes.
Entry & Kitchen Remodel
The first step of this Wauwatosa kitchen remodel was to remove several walls to open the kitchen into the dining room. We moved the powder room and added a pantry closet.
The entry was reconfigured with a new door and boot bench, which gives the family a place to hang coats and store shoes when they enter from the garage or back door.
White & Woods
The design is bright and white. We added warmth and contrast with a maple island and wood hood. Special features of this kitchen include the matte black hardware, a classic subway tile backsplash (from Bella Tile & Stone), a pot filler faucet and farmhouse sink.
This kitchen has tons of storage with roll-out drawers and a bi-fold appliance cabinet to hide small appliances. We added a pantry closet for extra food storage.
The wood-and-white theme is also continued in the powder bath. The walls are covered in white shiplap. We installed a floating wood vanity with a vessel sink and Kingston Brass wall-mounted faucet.
“We are very pleased with our new spaces. The Kowalske team was always very professional and exceeded expectations. They did a great job with quality, craftsmanship, and issue resolution. We highly recommend!”
