“It also makes a kitchen more functional and easier to clean, and is more pleasurable to live and work in. For these homeowners, who were debating about selling the house and moving to their cottage on the lake, a more functional kitchen made them decide to stay!”
Kitchen Storage Features
- Expanded Layout – The original kitchen was much smaller and didn’t allow the homeowners to entertain. We expanded the kitchen into the adjacent family room. With a larger footprint, this allowed for more cabinets with drawers.
- White Oak Hutch – The hutch offers storage for the dining space and when the hutch’s folding doors are open, it creates a serving station. To add that extra flare, we chose ornate and attractive handmade brass hardware.
- Hanging Brass Rail – The hanging rail along the backsplash provides storage for pans, cutting boards and kitchen utensils.
- Hidden Pantry – This kitchen includes a hidden walk-in pantry with outlets for small appliances – the microwave, coffee maker and more.
- Open Shelving – Open shelving along the main wall gives the kitchen storage space with an airy look.
- Workstation Sink – Because both of the homeowners enjoy cooking, we installed a unique workstation corner sink with two faucets. Complete with cutting boards and colanders, the sink offers plenty of room for two people to prep and chop food and wash and dry dishes.
