Kowalske Kitchen & Bath designer Stephanie Lang tells the story of this bathroom remodel. The original pink-tiled 1920s bathroom was unique and charming. The Wauwatosa family needed more functionality in their family bathroom. To make room for a double vanity, we stole space from a hallway linen closet and adjacent bedroom closet.
The end result is a luxurious bathroom. The vintage-style matches the home’s character. To keep the space light and bright, we used an octagon and dot floor tile and a classic subway tile for the walls. It’s the perfect mix of cool tones and warm accents. The moody blue walls, bronze fixtures and wood accents add warmth and contrast.

“Seeing the end result was breathtaking. I was so happy to be able to create a bathroom that the whole family can enjoy, while creating a calming respite as well. It gives me great pride to know I have improved the quality of their day-to-day lives.”
