Kowalske’s wet room bathroom in Pewaukee is the featured cover story article in KBB Magazine, the official publication of the National Kitchen + Bath Association (NKBA) and the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS). We are thrilled to see this bathroom remodel in the spotlight! Read on to see how we redesigned this space into a spa-like bathroom. The homeowners wanted a wet room with a walk-in shower, soaking bath tub and two separate vanities. The fluted wood-look tile and black wall tile adds drama and texture.

When asked about the team who worked on the project, designer Kim Anderson explained:
“…a project is only as good as its team, and hers is the made up of talented people who care about what they do. She had a design assistant who helped her make made the modern selections, as well as a project manager/problem solver.”
“So many people worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure this project went smoothly and came out as beautifully as its original intent, said Anderson. “My clients love the space and plan to reach out to us when they need more work done.”
Pewaukee Wet Room Bathroom
The owners of the bathroom – an active couple with young adult children – came to us because their primary bathroom was crowded. The sinks were too close together and the shower and toilet rooms were closed in. They also wanted a freestanding soaking bathtub. Their design inspiration was a wet room they experienced while vacationing. The space is now bright and more open with a larger shower, bathtub and two separate alder wood vanities. The wet room is modern and elegant with a curvy soaking bathtub and a fluted, wood-look tile feature wall.
A soft neutral color palette creates a spa-like atmosphere. The fluted wood-look tile and black wall tile adds drama and texture. Unique elements can be found throughout the space – from the lighted mirrors, to the chrome finishes. Throughout the bathroom there is a repetition of straight lines as seen in the tile and circles as seen in the sinks and mirrors.
